Who I help
Vicki Jackson, LMSW, is a Licensed Master Social Worker and certified life coach who specializes in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and provides therapy to children ages 3–13. Vicki creates a warm, supportive, and developmentally appropriate environment where children can express themselves, process emotions, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills through the natural language of play.
As a U.S. Army Veteran, Vicki has a special understanding of the unique experiences and stressors connected to military life and enjoys supporting military-connected children and families as they navigate transitions, anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, grief and loss, family changes, and other life stressors. Vicki also has experience working with children with disabilities, including autism, and provides individualized support that recognizes each child's unique strengths, needs, and developmental level.
Vicki takes a child-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach to therapy. Through Child-Centered Play Therapy, she follows the child's lead while providing a safe and accepting therapeutic environment where children can communicate and work through experiences that may be difficult to express with words. Vicki also incorporates developmentally appropriate psychoeducation, coping skills, emotional identification and regulation activities, parent support, and caregiver coaching when appropriate.
In addition to being LGBTQIA+ affirming and trauma-informed, Vicki has specialized experience working with survivors of human trafficking, child abuse and neglect, military families, and youth with problematic sexual behaviors (PSB-CY). She is also a facilitator of the Nurturing Parenting Program for Military Families.
Vicki believes that children communicate in many different ways and that play can provide a powerful pathway for healing, connection, and growth. She strives to create a therapeutic space where children feel accepted, understood, and empowered to explore their emotions at their own pace while helping caregivers better understand and support their child's needs.
