The directory and these terms

These Terms of Use govern use of Go Play Therapy, operated by The Hicks Group, LLC, a Florida company. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy. Therapist account holders must affirmatively accept these terms before using the profile-management process and before submitting or publishing a profile. If you do not agree, do not create or manage a listing. Our public information and directory features are provided subject to these terms and applicable law.

Our role

Go Play Therapy helps parents and caregivers find independent professionals who offer play therapy. We do not provide diagnosis, treatment, clinical advice, emergency services, or a guarantee that a therapist is suitable for a particular child. Using the directory, reading its content, or clicking a contact button does not by itself create a therapist-client relationship with us or a listed professional.

Therapists are independently responsible for their services and professional obligations. Decisions about treatment, suitability, availability, fees, and insurance are made between families, therapists, and any insurer. Do not delay seeking professional care because of information on this site. For immediate danger or an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service where you are; our forms and support inbox are not emergency channels.

Free listings

Browsing the directory and maintaining a therapist listing are free and will always be free. Therapy services are separate and may have fees set by the therapist. A free listing does not guarantee approval, continued publication, referrals, clients, placement, traffic, or uninterrupted operation. We may change directory features and remove listings under these terms; we will not convert your directory listing into a paid subscription.

Eligibility and account responsibility

You must be at least 18 to hold a therapist account and must be the professional represented or have authority to act for them. You must provide accurate information, protect access to your account email and sign-in links, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. Do not share access with unauthorized people, impersonate another person, or transfer a profile to a different therapist.

You must be legally permitted to provide the services and use the titles you claim in your jurisdiction. Interns, associates, and other pre-licensed professionals must accurately state their status and any required supervision. Listing in the directory does not authorize practice or replace local licensing requirements.

Accurate profiles and human review

You are responsible for keeping your name, contact details, practice location, qualifications, professional status, insurance information, and other profile content accurate and current. Promptly update information that changes, including restrictions, suspension, or expiration affecting your authority to practice. Do not include misleading claims, invented credentials, keyword stuffing, confidential client information, or material you lack permission to publish.

We review submissions before initial publication and may request corrections or supporting information. Some routine updates can publish immediately; identity, licensing, and other material changes may require further review. We may correct formatting, limit available selections, refuse publication, pause a listing, or remove content that is inaccurate, unlawful, misleading, unsafe, or inconsistent with the directory’s purpose. Human review is not a guarantee that every statement has been independently verified.

What verification means

A verification badge indicates that a licensing or registration record was checked against the relevant profile information at the time of review. It is not an endorsement, a background check, a certification of every degree or training claim, a guarantee of clinical skill or outcomes, or a promise of continuous monitoring. Information can change after a check. Profile publication and license verification are separate processes.

Licenses, statutory registrations, professional association credentials, and supervised or pre-licensed status differ by jurisdiction and are not interchangeable. An association credential such as RPT does not itself establish an independent license to practice. Families should confirm current credentials, suitability, and any supervision arrangements with the professional and the appropriate issuing authority.

Insurance and contacting therapists

Insurance information is supplied by therapists. A listed insurer, out-of-network status, or the availability of a superbill does not guarantee that a particular service is covered or reimbursable. Confirm your specific plan, benefits, provider participation, and costs directly with the therapist and insurer.

Phone, email, and website links connect you directly to external services. We do not guarantee replies, appointments, availability, or the security or practices of those services. Avoid sending sensitive information until you understand the therapist’s secure communication process.

Your content and our permission to use it

You retain ownership of content you submit. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide it, including permission to use photographs. You grant The Hicks Group, LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, host, reproduce, display, and format that content as needed to operate the directory, including cropping and resizing headshots and displaying listing previews in directory results.

This permission is limited to operating the service and does not give us ownership of your work. After removal, limited copies may remain in backups or records retained for legitimate operational or legal purposes. Search-engine copies may persist independently. We will seek separate permission to feature your identifiable profile content in unrelated promotional materials. Our name, logo, original site content, and software remain ours or our licensors’; third-party marks remain their owners’.

Acceptable use and reports

Do not use the site for spam, harassment, impersonation, fraudulent claims, unlawful activity, unauthorized access, malware, or interference with the service. Do not harvest contact information or bulk copy listings for unsolicited outreach or a competing database without authorization. Normal public search-engine indexing is permitted subject to our technical access rules.

Submit issue reports and support messages honestly and do not include unnecessary confidential information. Reporting a listing does not automatically remove it or guarantee a particular outcome. We may investigate, request information, correct content, or take other reasonable action. Report suspected copyright infringement through support, identifying the work, the relevant page, your authority to make the complaint, and contact information.

Account emails and optional tips

Necessary account communications include sign-in links, submission feedback, publication notices, security information, and important changes affecting your account. These messages support the account relationship and are separate from optional practice tips and resources.

Practice tips and resources may include information about books, guides, and other products from The Hicks Group, LLC. Subscription is optional and is not a condition of a free listing. You can decline, withdraw, or change your choice in account preferences or by contacting support. Future promotional messages will offer an unsubscribe method without requiring sign-in. We will never sell or rent your personal information or email address.

Pausing, removal, and account closure

You can unpublish your listing from your account. This removes it from the public directory but keeps your draft and account records. Contact support to request account closure or deletion; the Privacy Policy explains how we handle retained records and requests.

We may restrict or terminate access or publication for violations of these terms, legal requirements, security issues, or other legitimate directory-management reasons. Where practical, we will explain the issue and allow correction, but urgent situations may require action first. You may contact support to ask us to reconsider a decision. Removal does not eliminate obligations that by their nature continue, such as responsibility for misuse or content rights.

Service limits and responsibility

We aim to keep the directory useful and accurate, but it is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy, particular search rankings, or results from using the directory or a therapist’s services. Results may be arranged using location, filters, and other directory rules and are not a clinical recommendation.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, The Hicks Group, LLC is not responsible for independent therapists’ services or for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the directory. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer protections or responsibility imposed by law. These terms do not excuse fraud, willful misconduct, or other conduct for which liability cannot legally be limited.

Florida law, changes, and contact

Florida law governs these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law, without depriving you of mandatory protections available where you live. Subject to those protections and applicable jurisdiction rules, disputes may be brought in courts of competent jurisdiction in Florida. These terms do not require binding arbitration or waive class-action rights.

We may update these terms and will identify their effective date. For material changes affecting therapist accounts, we will provide appropriate notice and request renewed acceptance before further profile management or publication. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law. These terms and applicable policies describe the agreement for use of this directory.
